Tisha B’Av Observance

A service in observance of Tisha B’Av is scheduled for Sunday morning, August 7 at 9:00 AM in person in the Chapel. This holiday, named for the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av, commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. It is observed with a sunset to sunset fast, mourning customs like those practiced during shiva, and the chanting of the Book of Lamentations in its traditional, haunting melody.
