QUESTION: Why does this idiosyncratic expression of Jewish pietistic living with an attitude of radical amazement and ecstatic exuberance for devotion still matter today? We will explore this question and more as we journey through the foundations of devotion, community and life in Hasidism of the modern world and reflect on its ongoing inspiration and challenges to Jewish living.

Qohelet Book Release Celebration!

It’s the season of Qohelet! (aka the book of Ecclesiastes).  Join Rav Aubrey Glazer and his colleague, R. Dr. Martin Cohen (Shelter Rock Jewish center, NY) as both of their conservative Jewish communities celebrate their new translation and commentaries on Qohelet, called Merest Breath. Monday, Oct. 2, 7:30 pm. Pre-registration is required (please submit the form below and the Zoom link will be emailed to you).

Sunset in the Sukkah

October 4, 2023, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Sisterhood will hold its opening event, Sunset in the Sukkah on Wednesday, October 4 at 6:00 pm. Please join us for this annual get-together, where you can mingle with old friends and meet new members. We’ll first gather in the sukkah, followed by hors d’oeuvres and desserts. There is no charge. The Gift Shop will be open. Please RSVP to the office by September 22.

Simchat Torah Service and Celebration

October 8, 2023, 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Join us on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 9:30 am to celebrate the joy of completing another cycle of Torah reading and study. We’ll be dancing and singing with the Torah scrolls, and the band will be there to lead us. Following the service there will be a light lunch and our annual “make your own ice cream sundae bar.” Bring the whole family!
